Choosing the best airsoft pistol for your needs might sometimes prove to be difficult because of the incredible variety that currently soaks the market.
In this article, I tried my best to include only the 10 airsoft pistols which I consider to be the best so that you can choose from the best of the best instead of searching through countless models which may or may not be suitable for you.
But before getting to the pistols themselves you need to know which are the aspects I took into consideration when making this selection.
In my opinion, an airsoft pistol should first and foremost be made responsibly and with high-quality materials. This is a very important aspect because bad quality items fail more frequently thus forcing you to replace them more often. This may ultimately lead to higher expenses for you. That is why the quality of the airsoft pistols was a top priority when making the selection.
- Value for the money
Everybody loves quality but not everyone loves throwing money out the window. But that doesn’t necessarily imply that quality products are expensive, only that it is harder to find a perfectly balanced product that offers the best quality for the least amount of money. Thanks to this article finding those kinds of airsoft pistols is no longer hard for you.
Yes, the brand is very important in establishing the quality of a pistol. This combined with the fact that people love replicas after original guns like Colt, Beretta, Sig Sauer and others, leads me to think that the brand is a very important aspect when looking for a good airsoft pistol. In my selection, you will find a good variety of brands.
FPS means “feet per second” and it basically is the speed of a projectile (BB) when shot out of the pistol. The higher the FPS, the more the shot will hurt you. I tried to make a moderate selection in this case, with most pistols being average and some with a higher FPS than the majority. Although I did not consider FPS to be more important than quality and accuracy which leads me to the next aspect.
It’s pretty simple to figure out why accuracy was an important aspect in making this selection. Without accuracy, an airsoft gun is pretty much useless because it won’t hit anything.
The good old classic Colt is always a great pick as an airsoft pistol. But that is not everything there is to it. It is a pistol made entirely of metal and it features a ton of great functions.
It can hold up to 15 BBs and that is good, the orange plastic tip is removable so you can use this to attach a silencer and last but not least, it has a very strong recoil and blowback.
I would say that this is probably the best airsoft replica that I have seen. The metal structure is fantastic.
Needless to say that I consider this Colt airsoft pistol the best buy in its category. I definitely recommend it for those who want a high-quality airsoft pistol.
This is a pretty affordable pistol, and despite the fact that you won’t get the same quality as the previous full metal Colt, it is still a fantastic deal in terms of value for the money. Beware that this is a spring-powered pistol, not a CO2 one.
It shoots .12 gram BBs which are specific to lower end pistols like this one, at 275 FPS, which does not offer much space for using heavier BBs for improved accuracy.
The design and form factor are good enough for most amateurs although the structure is made from plastic. This is not necessarily a bad thing although you cannot really compare a plastic structure with a metal one.
If you want a good quality revolver this one is the way to go. Of all the positive things I noticed about this revolver, the one that shines is the accuracy. I didn’t expect it to be this accurate.
Mostly all the components are made of metal except for the handle which is made of hard plastic. Speaking of the handle, it is very ergonomic and has a nice feel on the hand. I find it very pleasing to use thanks to this handle.
It is a CO2 revolver that can hold 6 BBs with a size of 4.5 mm and works with a 12g cartridge.
This is a top tier revolver airsoft pistol in terms of quality, accuracy, and value for the money. It makes for a great companion in either training or competitions.
This one is probably one of the best if not the best-manufactured airsoft pistols I have seen on the market at this moment. The quality is beyond expectations and the results are the same. The accuracy and FPS are both great and the weight gives it a feel of authenticity.
Since it is such a good replica of the original Beretta, you can practice with it instead of spending piles of cash on the shooting range. After that, you are ready to handle the real thing.
It holds up to 18 BBs, featuring a 12g CO2 cartridge. What I can say about this pistol is that it shoots flawlessly. I have yet to see it hiccup or jam in any way, and that is pretty impressive. It also features an auto mode with which you can basically shoot round after round without releasing the trigger, although that will drain your ammo pretty fast.
What else should I say about this Beretta airsoft pistol besides that it is a great pick in every aspect of it, from quality to handling experience? I definitely recommend it.
-Best Smith and Wesson M&P 40 Airsoft Pistol-
When you speak of the Smith and Wesson M&P, you automatically speak about one of the most famous pistols ever made and one of the most appreciated on the planet. While this is not the best replica of this gun in terms of materials, the design stays pretty faithful to the original.
It is true that it is made of plastic, but at this price, it is not actually possible to manufacture a full metal pistol that imitates the original in every sense and still cost way less. See the Beretta and Colt replicas in this selection to understand what I am talking about.
A quality that is recognized by most airsoft players is that a lightweight pistol might often prove a better choice than a metal replica. This is exactly the case of this Smith and Wesson air gun. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver so you can move around more freely and not feel the weapon as a burden.
Again, this is not a flawless pistol, you might encounter some problems here and there but for the price, you can’t really beat it, and that is why I like it so much and so many others feel the same.
While I am not a fan of plastic airsoft pistols, sometimes you just have to make a compromise so you can still have enough money for other stuff. And thankfully this airsoft revolver is one of the best compromises I could find.
It can take up to 10 BBs or .177 cal pellets. If you use the pellets, remember that you can cause some damage on the bare skin especially since it has 435 FPS. So use them carefully, and hopefully dressed up. 🙂
If you plan on using it to scare animals away instead of playing airsoft sports, it might be a good choice as well.
All in all a very versatile airsoft pistol with a quality construction and a great value for the money.
The good old Walther now has a great airsoft correspondent that doesn’t disappoint.
Since it comes with an orange tip, I remembered a question someone asked on an airsoft forum. The question was whether he could buy a certain airsoft pistol that was a good metal replica in the case of a home robbery. My stance on this is that you should not under any circumstances buy an airsoft gun that looks like the original in the event of a home invasion. Why? Pretty self-explanatory. If someone manages to get in your home and has a loaded firearm and you appear with the airsoft replica there will be only two possible situations.
- The burglar gets scared and runs away
- The burglar sees it as a life or death situations so he begins to shoot at you, a situation where you will confront a real gun with an airsoft one. Good luck with that.
So it is pretty obvious why you shouldn’t use an airsoft pistol to intimidate the thieves, but now let’s get back to the reasons why this Walther replica is one of the best airsoft pistols.
Well, it has 380 FPS and a capacity of 15 BBs which is fine for most airsoft games.
I like the design a lot. It resembles the original Walther P99 a lot although, in order to keep the price low, the manufacturer used plastic in certain parts of the pistol. However, the slide is made of metal which is good, considering that this is one of those parts which break very often due to the added pressure.
-Best Heckler and Koch Airsoft Pistol-
Among every other aspect that I appreciate on this Heckler and Koch P30 airsoft replica, is the build and how everything was put together. The pistol has a sturdy build even though some parts are made from plastic.
It uses CO2 as a propelling gas for the projectiles and has a 15 round magazine. It does not come with the orange tip so this makes it look even more as the original.
The only inconvenience would be the lack of a threaded barrel which means you can’t put a silencer. That’s all I can think of that would qualify as an inconvenience although for some this is not an important thing.
It is not the most affordable airsoft pistol but it is definitely a high-quality one. I cannot have enough words of praise for the quality of craftsmanship that was put into this pistol. If you want something ultra-realistic for practice, this is one of the best pistols to pick from the multitude available on the market.
This Taurus airsoft pistol is great in many aspects from durability to ease of use and ultimately overall experience. While I am not a fan of the mostly plastic build, I am aware of the reality that most airsoft players don’t necessarily want full metal replicas for their games. So as far as this argument goes it is a good pistol in terms of value for the money because it has good specs and comes at an affordable price at the same time. More on the specs in a second.
While I like both CO2 and spring powered pistols I tend to appreciate spring pistols more for their quality of not needing any maintenance or additional expenditure in the long run (as long as the spring doesn’t break). But that is mostly a matter of preference. Blowback is mostly non-existent with spring airsoft pistols and that is for me the worst part, but a lot of people don’t really care on this matter.
The accuracy is a subject that I want to speak about because it is so important when in any situation from airsoft games to practice and so on. I found that this is a pretty accurate pistol with both .12g and .20g with the latter being obviously a little more accurate. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would mark the accuracy of this pistol a 7.5 or maximum an 8. So it is not fantastic but for the price it is good. The FPS varies based on the weight of the projectiles as you may already know very well but according to the manufacturer, it is around 315 FPS. I need to say that I am pretty surprised that it has quite a lot of power for a spring powered pistol.
Another thing which appealed to me a lot is the locking that slides when you are out of ammo. I know a lot of pistols in this price range that do not have this feature and I think it is great that the manufacturer thought to include it in this pistol especially considering the price. Holding 26 rounds in the mag is yet another thing that is pretty uncommon.
Overall this is a very neat and well-made airsoft pistol. It is a pleasure to use it in most situations and I think it is definitely worth the money. Great pick if you need an affordable airsoft pistol.
This is a gorgeous KJW replica that comes with a high-quality standard. I would most probably use it for preparations for the real gun, although since it is a blowback pistol it can be used in all situations from scaring annoying animals to professional airsoft gameplay.
The recoil (blowback) is quite strong on this KJW making it feel really authentic. Needless to say that the full metal body has the same effect.
A very nice thing is that it supports both CO2 and propane gas so you can choose the one you prefer. Either way, you have to know that this is a very loud gun. Others might think it is the real deal so use it with caution.
If you are willing to invest a little more money to get a high fidelity replica then I would recommend this airsoft pistol for every activity from preparing for the real gun to specific airsoft games.
